Jeff Heland Tries to Drop Fred with Hate Claim
On Thursday’s Big Show 1150 AM Cry Baby Large Mouth Ass Jeff Heland tried to drop Fred with a claim of hate speech for the morning Big Show. The exchange occurred at about 7:42 if you want to listen on the KCPS archive.
Or better yet, Click Here. The clip begins with Fred discussing a USAToday article misstating the jobs saved with stimulus money.
Heland told Fred, “You need to examine your conscience.….You hang up too much on Mary (Baker).....I don't believe we made George Bush jokes. ”
When the subject of Heland's failure to limit his wild county spending habits with taxpayer money came up, Heland snapped with his ugly side to Dan Hockett, “You hate speech monger.”
Our suggestion? Mary call Jeff at 752-6050 and commiserate with each other.
After that riveting exchange Jeff, you might consider your exploits in Gulfport. Maybe you would like to enlighten the voters on your exploits over there and how “You need to examine your conscience.”
Not too many people would appreciate that. Except maybe our drunk ex-mayor Mike Edwards.

Two Forms of Justice - Scott & Bell
Spike:
Tim probably had the same DNR permits that the city used to dispose of the Manor trash although we all know there couldn’t have been any hazardous materials in those WWII constructed homes. Otherwise, they couldn’t have dumped them into plain old holes in the ground somewhere out in the country.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they dumped the ball park lights in the same dump or dumps since they’ve always lied about what happened to them.
It’s nice to know our city government is entrusted to a group of liars and low life’s that are capable of slithering under the nearest rock when questioned about misdeeds.
Remember we have the Tim Scott/Eric Bell laws for the city employees and their dependents and then the regular justice system for the rest of us.
Burlington just reeks of injustice and nepotism.

Burlington Terminal Destination
Spike,
'Switzerland announced plans yesterday to crack down on “
suicide tourism”, signaling that it might close the Dignitas clinic that has helped hundreds of terminally ill people to take their lives."
"For God's sakes, let's do something pragmatic and progressive here. This trail is a great thing for us.
Eco-tourism is the future of southeast Iowa," Des Moines County Board Chairman Jeff Heland said. "Not being able to have the trail go through here hurts us."
"If you've seen one tree, you've seen 'em all," A wise man said.
Is tourism the last refuge of every desperate to cover their tracks political hack? Heland is a strong argument for the case. Leaders like Heland have made Burlington depressing as hell. Why not capitalize on their work.
There are more trees than casinos. There are more casinos every day. Go for something unique. The Swiss could be handing Burlington an opportunity.
Make Burlington the check out destination of the Western World.
It would take some slick legislative action. Put the plan through as an amendment on some obscure piece of legislation. Other legislators will buy in if there is a none resident assisted death tax. Because of its special economic depression status, Burlington gets a ten year exclusive franchise. Just like the Manor Mall, Senator Courtney is the man to make such a plan happen.
The City Council will issue the permit in a special downtown redevelopment zone. Naturally, there will be a local option assisted death tax in the state code. Another special local option tax, watch our Council people jump on it.
We must do something to supplement our dying previous development schemes. Our flat line leaders may finally have an option that will raise our town from the dead.
Happy Halloween!

A Rippling Rip Tide On The Road to Perdition
Spike,
"“It’s your turn,” Mimmack told an audience of several hundred people. He said
Ottumwa’s experience in 2005 gives it an edge in the competing locations for casino expansion."
"The casino will reduce social problems created by high unemployment and high taxes. The casino itself will create more than 300 full time jobs with benefits, plus hundreds or thousands of additional tertiary jobs.
It will provide tax relief to people already overburdened by taxes. It will provide money for community development projects directly improving the region’s overall quality of life."
Let it be Ottumwa's turn. Burlington bought into that line and look at the results. Are you enjoying your tax relief and no level of crime causing concern?
Riverside continues to reverberate on Catfish Bend's cash flow. A newer gambling hall better planned and not that far away may just make Burlington's problem go away.
Check out Ottumwa's online petition to the Iowa Racing and Gambling Commission. Tell the promoters you will sign with a provision. They buy and remove all recoupable water park assets at Catfish Bend and fill in Huck's Hole.
There's a sucker born every minute.
